High-ho high-ho off to work we go!

Today, January 24th we had to wake up at 6 : 30 after getting in around 3. Of course, I didn't hear my alarm but every other girl did :) After we had an orientation and breakfast, we were off. On our way to the swamp, we saw all of New Orleans. We saw the super dome( which was getting ready for the big game), the bridges that the citizens tried to cross, the lower ninth ward and Saint Bernard parish. On our arrival to the swamp, we had a boot problems. Everyone had the wrong sizes. Miss Walter had 2 left shoes but she dealt with it. Our group of ten was called The Two Left Feet. We journeyed through the swamp. But before we went in, they told us to be careful of the fire ants and poisonous snakes! I was completely scared out of my head! I was looking at my feet watching to be careful not to step on one. We planted cypress trees, and we each had our own route. My group saw a salamander and many birds. We also heard something go by, but we didn't see what it was. We also found many treasures hidden within. We found a water pitcher, a record player, 2 purses, a Mack Truck and an electronic device. We ate our packed lunches and went off again. We heard many screams and shrieks this time but no one actually found a snake. Thank Goodness! On our way back, lots of kids fell asleep and we saw the huge line of people waiting to get into the Superdome. When we got back to the bunks, we all relaxed, took walks and played games. Dinner was spaghetti and bread cooked by Group 2 and cleaned by Group 1. That is pretty much all that we did today! Shout outs to My parents, Steve and Linda Futter. Also a shout out to my brother Matt and Connor Pierce for his birthday! Happy Birthday!!!
